Animals Tier List

How to read this animals tier list

Animals (pets) in Survive Lava for Animals are your pen workforce. They generate cash while you train, steal, or sleep thanks to offline earnings. This list ranks animals by progression value: how hard they are to obtain versus how hard they push your economy at that stage of the biome ladder.

Important honesty note: exact cash-per-second figures change when Collect ALL Animals ships balance updates. We do not invent fake precise $/s tables. Use S/A/B/C as relative advice, then verify in your own HUD after patches listed on the Updates Hub.

Tier definitions

  • S-tier — Best income for the biomes you can currently clear; protect these slots
  • A-tier — Strong keepers that stay relevant for a long stretch
  • B-tier — Fine temporary earners or collection fillers; replace when pen is full
  • C-tier — Early filler or weak drops; sell once better eggs hatch

Tiers are bracketed by biome access. An S-tier Grass animal is not equal to an S-tier Mythical animal — it is S-tier for its bracket.

Grass bracket

Goal: Fund your first treadmill hours and pen upgrades without dying on every steal.

  • S: Earliest animals that clearly out-earn the tutorial fillers after your first successful Grass hatches. Keep two or three anchors while you learn lava timing from Survive Lava.
  • A: Steady Grass hatches that pay for trampoline time and a first trail — see Trails Tier List.
  • B: Duplicate low earners; fine until capacity hurts.
  • C: Anything that occupies a slot while you are ready for Desert eggs.

Focus on completing Getting Started loops rather than perfectionism.

Desert and Beach brackets

Goal: Multiply offline earnings so short sessions still buy Speed.

Desert animals usually leap past Grass fillers. Beach adds another income step and teaches wetter or longer return paths. Prioritize:

  • S: Desert/Beach exclusives that beat your best Grass earner by a clear margin in the pen UI
  • A: Solid mid-drops that keep paying while you grind Speed for Underwater
  • B/C: Leftover Grass pets once Desert hatches land — sell to free slots

Steal technique matters more here: Steal Eggs. Do not chase Beach eggs with starter Speed only — Train Speed.

Underwater and Arctic brackets

Goal: Specialize the pen for midgame offline cash.

These biomes punish slow returns. Animals that come from successful steals here should dominate your equipped set.

  • S: Underwater/Arctic hatches that become your new offline backbone
  • A: Flexible earners that remain useful into Jungle
  • B: Situational drops kept for biome index / collection progress — see Biomes Guide
  • C: Anything from Grass/Desert still clogging capacity

If offline payouts feel flat, your pen is probably full of outdated brackets. Upgrade capacity first (Upgrades), then replace bottom earners.

Jungle and Ancient brackets

Goal: Prepare for endgame eggs without bankruptcy.

Jungle animals bridge midgame to Ancient. Ancient hatches are expensive in time and death risk — when one succeeds, it should almost always enter S or high A for your account until Mythical opens.

  • S: Ancient income pets that redefine your cash/minute
  • A: Jungle standouts and sturdy mid-drops still earning while you practice Ancient routes
  • B: Collection pieces and temporary holds
  • C: Mid biome leftovers once Ancient slots fill

Pair with Eggs & Biomes so you stop risking Ancient lava for eggs that hatch into mediocre pets.

Mythical bracket

Goal: Endgame pen quality.

Mythical animals sit at the top of the current ladder. Treat successful Mythical hatches as S-tier for almost every account until a future update adds a higher tier. Only sell if a newer patch introduces strictly better Mythical options — confirm on Updates.

Practical pen policy

  1. After every session, sort animals by income and sell the bottom slot if a better egg is ready to place.
  2. Never leave high-biome eggs unhatched overnight if capacity exists — offline earnings need hatched animals.
  3. Equip best for display bonuses when the game offers equip slots separate from pen storage.
  4. Re-audit the pen after every major patch; cash curves move.
  5. Use trails to acquire better animals; do not buy flashy trails while the pen is full of C-tier Grass pets.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Why are there no exact $/s numbers?

Collect ALL Animals retunes income with updates. Relative S/A/B/C brackets stay useful longer than fake precise tables.

Should I sell Grass animals when I reach Desert?

Usually yes once Desert hatches out-earn them and pen space is tight. Keep Grass pets only if slots are empty.

Do equipped animals earn more than penned ones?

Follow in-game tooltips. Many builds pay from pen occupants; equip slots may add bonuses. Prioritize filling the pen either way.

Are Mythical animals always S-tier?

For current progression, successful Mythical hatches are top-bracket for most players until a higher tier ships.

How does this relate to offline earnings?

Offline cash scales with the animals you leave hatched in the pen. Replace weak pets before you log off.
