Egg progression philosophy
Eggs are the raw material of Survive Lava for Animals. Every strong pen starts as a dangerous grab under rising lava. This page ranks egg targets by biome, not by cosmetic shell color alone. Higher biomes generally mean rarer hatches and better animals — but only if you survive the return. Pair this list with Steal Eggs, Survive Lava, and Animals Tier List.

How we tier eggs
- S: Best eggs you should take whenever Speed, trails, and lava timing make the run realistic
- A: Strong eggs worth planning routes around
- B: Optional grabs if the path is already clear
- C: Skip if they delay a better biome steal or risk a full inventory wipe on death
Spawn tables can shift after patches (Updates Hub). If an egg type moves biomes, trust the live map over any outdated screenshot.
Grass eggs
Role: Tutorial economy.
Grass eggs are A/S for brand-new plots and fall to B/C once Desert is farmable. Use them to learn grab prompts, pen placement, and offline earnings without long deaths. Do not camp Grass forever — your Upgrades bill needs Desert+ income.
Desert eggs
Role: First real power spike.
Desert eggs are the first S-tier progression targets for most accounts. Heat theming aside, the important part is animal quality after hatching. Train a bit more Speed on the treadmill before greed-running every Desert nest — Train Speed.
Beach eggs
Role: Mid-early diversification.
Beach adds route length and new failure points. Rank Beach eggs A/S once Desert feels consistent. If you still die leaving Grass, fix mobility and lava literacy before Beach camping.
Underwater eggs
Role: Midgame identity.
Underwater eggs usually jump hatch value again and teach vertical or submerged pathing. Treat them as S when your trails and Speed clear the stage with spare time before lava. Failures here are expensive — empty-handed deaths teach less than controlled Grass practice.
Arctic eggs
Role: Mid-late income.
Arctic steals demand respect for chill chokepoints and rising lava. Eggs here are S/A depending on your success rate. If you clear Arctic once every ten tries, farm Underwater until trails and trampoline upgrades stabilize returns.
Jungle eggs
Role: Bridge to endgame.
Jungle eggs feed animals that carry you into Ancient prep. Rank them S for accounts pushing endgame, A if you still need Arctic consistency. Dense paths mean contested grabs in 7-player servers — leave early if another player is already carrying the egg you wanted.
Ancient eggs
Role: High-risk premium.
Ancient eggs are S-tier aspirational targets. Only run them when:
- Speed comfortably clears the stage
- You know lava timings (Survive Lava)
- Pen space exists for the hatch (Hatch Animals)
Dying on Ancient with a full inventory of mid eggs is a net loss. Bank hatches first.
Mythical eggs
Role: Current ceiling.
Mythical eggs sit at the top of the known ladder. They are S-tier whenever you can attempt them with a realistic clear chance. Do not burn hours failing Mythical if Ancient farming still upgrades your pen faster — compare expected animals on the Animals Tier List.

Inventory and death rules
- One great egg beats three mediocre eggs if lava is rising
- If trails are weak, take the shorter biome even if the egg tier is lower — live animals beat dead runs
- After a death streak, drop one biome down to rebuild confidence and cash
